Calle Perez Castellano
It is tasty to walk down Pérez Castellano street, sister of the other most famous pedestrian street in Montevideo, which is Sarandí. It is easy, you are located in Plaza Independencia and looking north you go to the old door of Ciudad Vieja. You go through it and your feet will be on Sarandí. Go straight down all the time until, a few blocks before the boulevard ends, you see that the path of curiosities ends at the intersection with Pérez Castellano. There's no way to get lost.
This pedestrian section is cheerful, colorful, like a fair that does not close, but it has two exceptions. One is the loneliness that attacks him when night falls and the other is a hint of begging that sometimes affects the area.
But do not lose heart or be dazed by this, because when Pérez Castellano finishes you will have reached the most incredible place in Montevideo: the Mercado del Puerto, where it will be well worth you to give yourself a great reward of carnivorous glory.
