⏳ July 2019
We are continuing the trip through the Greenland Sea to Iceland viewing also Jan Mayen, a Norwegian volcanic island.
Fulmar
The first thing you see from Jan Mayen is a volcano (stratovolcano) Beerenberg, 2,277 m (7,470 ft) high, the northern active volcano. The crater is 1 km (0.6 mi) wide, filled with ice, the highest summit is Haakon VII Toppen. The last eruptions were in 1970 and 1980. Beerenberg means polar bear in duch.
